Guaranteed Ride Home

You’ll never be stranded. If you carpool, vanpool, take transit, walk, or bike to work, you have a safety net with the Guaranteed Ride Home program.

Registered participants can get a free* ride home in an Uber, taxi, or rental car up to three times per year in the event of:

  • Personal or family illness or emergency
  • Unscheduled overtime
  • Being stranded at work due to carpool or vanpool driver leaving for an emergency

While we are thankful to have worked with Uber over the past couple of years, our partnership will come to an end on June 30, 2019.
Yellow Cab Taxi and Enterprise Rent-A-Car will continue to offer you a safe and guaranteed ride home in the case of an emergency. Re-enrollment for the new fiscal year will begin on July 1 when updated Participation Guidelines, including all qualifying circumstances and program limitations, also will be available.

*Please note, you must work in San Diego County to participate in the Guaranteed Ride Home program. Expenses such as gratuity and fuel are not covered by Guaranteed Ride Home. Details about maximum covered charges are available in the Guaranteed Ride Home Guidelines (Also available in Spanish).
