Encourage your students to take active transportation to school with a free class!
For the 2016-2017 school year, the iCommute Walk, Ride, and Roll to School program is offering free classes and events for public or private K-12 schools in the San Diego region. These classes are designed to teach students skills and safety to build confidence and encourage active transportation choices. Our goal is to increase the number of children who walk, bike, skate, skateboard, or ride a scooter to school; raise awareness of the benefits of more active forms of transportation; and promote pedestrian and bike safety.
Enroll your school in a free class. An administrator, principal, or parent leader of the school can sign up for a class or event. Registration for education services is on a first-come, first-served basis with a preference to schools that did not receive funding through our mini-grant program.

Walk, Ride, and Roll to School Mini-Grants
The iCommute Walk, Ride, and Roll to School Mini-Grant program offered grants of up to $1,500 to support projects or programs that educate and encourage active forms of transportation to and from school. Sixteen successful applicants received approval notice for the 2016 – 2017 school year. In 2015, awarded mini-grant activities reached more than 8,000 students.
