The Stand for Less campaign to improve conservation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in San Diego was launched in April 2009. The San Diego initiative is a part of a statewide effort that aims to reduce greenhouse gas-inducing habits in four key areas: water, electricity, transportation, and recycling.
Through iCommute, SANDAG will help to educate San Diegans on ways to reduce their individual contributions to greenhouse gas emissions by carpooling, taking transit, walking, cycling, and working from home.
You can do your part by visiting the Stand For Less Web site today and discovering how small changes in your lifestyle – like taking transit one day a week – can make a big difference to the environment. Then add up your savings in TripTracker. It all adds up for San Diego!
Stand for Less was developed to help achieve the goals of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). Statewide partners include the California Department of Conservation, the California Energy Commission, the California Air Resources Board, the California Public Utility Commission, and the California Department of Water Resources. Local partners include SANDAG, San Diego Gas & Electric, the San Diego County Water Authority, and the California Center for Sustainable Energy.
