iCommute teams up with local organizations to promote commute choices to area employers. Past events have included a forum with the U.S. Department of Labor – Women’s Bureau highlighting workplace flexibility options available to employers in the San Diego region and a forum with the California Center for Sustainable Energy highlighting telework and climate change and recommended green commuting options for companies wanting to reduce their carbon footprint.
As part of Rideshare Week each year, SANDAG hosts a free workshop for employers to learn about the commute choices they can offer their employees. The 2009 forum was held on October 7 at event host, SAIC and featured a panel of managers and human resources professionals who oversee some of the most successful commuter programs in the San Diego region. A presentation was made to participants who learned about the benefits of commuter programs, how to get started, best practices, and much more.
Rideshare Week, held every October, is a great time for local companies to consider new commute options for employees.
