Past events have included a forum with the U.S. Department of Labor – Women’s Bureau highlighting workplace flexibility options available to employers in the San Diego region and a forum with the California Center for Sustainable Energy highlighting telework and climate change and recommended green commuting options for companies wanting to reduce their carbon footprint.
Employer Forum: Compressed Work Weeks Netconference: Boosting Morale, Performance and Savings Via Compressed Work Weeks

iCommute and the Women’s Bureau invite you to attend a netconference on Compressed Work Weeks. The netconference will feature three case studies on how compressed work week programs were implemented in Arizona, Utah, and San Diego. In San Diego, the HR Director at the San Diego Blood Bank will discuss how their organization put a successful compressed work-week program in place using the Alternative Work Week Election Process in California. The netconference is hosted by the National Center for Transit Research at the University of South Florida and the Association for Commuter Transportation.

As part of Rideshare Week each year, SANDAG hosts a free workshop for employers to learn about the commute choices they can offer their employees. The 2009 forum was held on October 7 at event host, SAIC and featured a panel of managers and human resources professionals who oversee some of the most successful commuter programs in the San Diego region. A presentation was made to participants who learned about the benefits of commuter programs, how to get started, best practices, and much more.
Rideshare Week, held every October, is a great time for local companies to consider new commute choices for employees. SANDAG can help design programs for the workplace such as vanpooling, carpooling, riding transit, or bicycling.
