Bike to Work

It’s How We Roll. With an average temperature of 71 degrees, the San Diego region is one of the best places in the country for people to commute on two wheels. Biking to work can save you money and really help the environment.

iCommute can help you find a bike partner, as well as connect you with a free bike locker and help you map out the best route to your destination.

By going green you can actually get green! The more you log your trips with TripTracker, the more your savings will add up. Not only will you see what you save, but you’ll help to prove that the San Diego region is growing greener over time. That can literally mean more funding for transportation programs like new or improved bike lanes. Plus, iCommute now holds monthly prize drawings for commuters who use more sustainable ways of getting to work or school.

Bicycling Events. iCommute also oversees Bike to Work Month, including Bike to Work Day, each May. In 2011, more than 6,000 cyclists gave it a spin and used their bike to get to work. For information on other bike events in the region, visit the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition events page.

San Diego Regional Bicycle Plan. The SANDAG Board of Directors adopted Riding to 2050, The San Diego Regional Bike Plan in 2010. The plan outlines the vision for the regional bicycle system through 2050.
